Should you buy it?
If you’re looking for a short-term only nootropic, then this might be the perfect stack for you. Primal One Ambition is capable of delivering a rapid focus and energy increase. No real long-term benefits though; effects will subside quickly. Some dead weight so price is inflated.
TL;DR – Summary
Primal One Ambition looks like a heavy-duty, full-spectrum nootropic on the surface. However, once you look at the formula, you realize that it’s actually a short-term focus enhancer. A pretty powerful one at that. Primal One Ambition provides a very good dose of Tyrosine and Rhodiola rosea which together reduce anxiety and promote good cognitive performance during stressful events. You also get a sizable dose of CDP-Choline; my favorite focus and learning supplement.
There’s really nothing for long-term, lasting brain development here. If you want a quick, fast-acting focus fix, this is a good call. If you want lasting changes, look elsewhere. My personal favorite nootropics might be a good place to start.
Primal One Ambition Review
Primal One Ambition is a brand new nootropic to come onto the market. I first saw it on Amazon, but it looks like it is being sold by the manufacturer directly – always a good sign. If you check out the Primal One website, you’ll see that this is a serious outfit. These guys have a great brand, and they already have an awesome product range on offer.
Their “complete performance stack” is designed to enhance every aspect of your health and well-being, which is exactly what I want to see!
Ambition is their specialized focus enhancer. According to the website, Primal One Ambition delivers the following key benefits:
- Enhanced short-term memory function
- Rapidly increased focus
- Reduced brain fog
- Heightened alertness
This sounds like a great supplement to me. While I do prefer to use an all-in-one nootropic stack, there are definitely instances where people benefit more from using a short-term, fast-acting brain supplement.
So, the only question I need to answer is, does it actually do any of this?
Does Primal One Ambition really work? What are the main strengths of the formula? Is it safe? How does Ambition compare to my favorite nootropics on the market today?

Primal One Ambition ingredients
Let’s check out the formula and see whether Primal One have backed up their big promises with legit ingredients and doses.
Here is a shot of the label showing the ingredients and serving sizes:
Here is a list of the ingredients and doses for anyone who wants to copy and paste:
- 250mg Tyrosine
- 150mg Rhodiola rosea
- 150mg CDP-Choline
- 50mg Coffee Extract
- 25mg AsrtaGin™
- 50mcg Huperzine A
I’ll now do a quick breakdown of the ingredients, telling you what they are, what they do, and how they work (if they work at all of course).
Tyrosine
Tyrosine is a simple amino acid. However, when supplemented in the correct amounts, it can have a profound impact on your cognitive performance. Specifically, studies have shown that Tyrosine promotes a calm, clear-headed, focused state in people in stressful situations. This is why Tyrosine is prized by students and athletes alike – if you need to stay calm and focused under pressure, Tyrosine can help.
Rhodiola rosea
Rhodiola rosea is much more effective than Tyrosine when it comes to reducing stress and anxiety. It also has nootropic properties – like Tyrosine, it promotes a state of heightened attention in people under acute stress. Together, Rhodiola rosea and Tyrosine are the ideal pair for anybody looking to improve their mental performance in stressful situations. It’s fast-acting and usually completely side effect-free.
CDP-Choline
This is my favorite cholinergic. No doubt about it. Alpha-GPC is great; I’ve got fantastic results from it over the years. But CDP-Choline just has an edge for me. This choline compound quickly and efficiently crosses the blood brain barrier, raising choline levels in the brain and thereby allowing it to synthesize more acetylcholine. Supplementing with CDP-Choline quickly leads to increased attention, crystal clear focus, and rapid information processing. A must-have for any focus-booster.
NeuroFactor ™Coffee Berry Extract
You might see coffee and think caffeine, but NeuroFactor actually has a very low caffeine content. Instead, the compounds they have concentrated from the coffee berry are largely antioxidants. As such, the amount of caffeine you get from NeuroFactor is significantly less than 50mg. The reason this ingredient is used is to boost BDNF levels in the brain. I’m not entirely convinced that this stuff works in this way yet, but it certainly doesn’t seem to hurt!
AstraGin™
I don’t really see why Primal One have included a Ginseng extract in Ambition. I am yet to see any research proving that ginseng supplementation improves cognitive function in any way whatsoever. There is plenty of research showing that it improves other aspects of health and performance, but to my knowledge none have anything to do with focus, memory, learning, clarity, mood, and so on. A bit of dead weight as far as I’m concerned!
Huperzine A
A truly fantastic nootropic, Huperzine A should be in every fast-acting focus booster. It gets to work immediately, ramping up acetylcholine levels in the brain by inhibiting the enzyme which usually destroys the neurotransmitter. Users typically feel a big difference in as little as 2 hours after taking Huperzine A – heightened attention, greater concentration span, increased motivation, the works.
My thoughts on the Primal One Ambition formula
This is a really interesting nootropic. The brain supplement market really does need more products like this; as it stands, only a couple of brands are really producing high quality, specialist supplements which cover every aspect of human performance.
Most are just pumping out the same, generic, weak stacks.
Primal One Ambition is a welcome change to the same old brain supplements I see every single day.
I’ll quickly go through the main positives and negatives of the Primal One Ambition formula.
Main positives
On the whole, it is a very good focus enhancer. It will rapidly increase focus, attention, motivation – pretty much every aspect of short-term, executive mental function.
The thing I like the most is the Tyrosine and Rhodiola rosea combo.
When taken together, these anxiolytics become far more effective than using them in isolation.
For me, they seem to heighten and increase the effects of the other. Tyrosine significantly reduces performance anxiety, while rhodiola rosea brings about a general feeling of relaxed focus and calm concentration. Tyrosine helps me perform well despite being tired or uncomfortable, while rhodiola prevents me from panicking about the looming deadline.
Together, they keep me in a state of level-headed productivity.
Using this combination produces results that are far greater than the sum of the parts. This is exactly why I prefer taking nootropic stacks over a high dose of a single ingredient.
Primal One Ambition provides a very health 250mg of Tyrosine and 150mg of Rhodiola rosea. The extract quality is good too. In my opinion this is exactly how these ingredients should always be dosed!
I’m also a huge fan of CDP-Choline. The fact that Primal One Ambition has dosed it properly is a major selling point.
In my opinion, CDP-Choline is the best option for people looking to rapidly improve cognitive function in the broadest possible way. By elevating acetylcholine availability, CDP-Choline allows the brain to perform at ‘maximum capacity‘.
The benefits of using CDP-Choline are many. It works quickly. It works reliably well for the vast majority of users. It is well tolerated and usually side effect-free. It supports brain cell membrane formation as well as cognitive performance.
Most nootropic stacks today use cheap cholinergics. Either that, or they don’t dose them properly.
Primal One have used 150mg of CDP-Choline in this brain supplement. While I would definitely like to see more, 150mg is a perfectly acceptable dose. Anyone using Ambition will see the benefits of CDP-Choline within the first hours of taking it!
Main negatives
While it does have some big selling points, the Primal One Ambition formula is by no means perfect.
For one thing, I think it’s always best to take a long-term, holistic approach to cognitive enhancement.
That’s how you get real, lasting results. There’s nothing in Primal One Ambition to promote lasting brain development, long-term memory enhancement, or anything like that. All of the effects are transient – after about 5 hours, you’ll probably be close to baseline again, with no changes to the way the brain functions or grows to show for it.
There’s also some dead weight in Primal One Ambition.
Ginseng doesn’t have any notable nootropic properties, and I am not at all convinced by the research on coffee berry extract. I really dislike paying for dead weight – if Primal One ditched these useless ingredients, then they could probably lower the price. After all, I don’t want to pay premium prices for a short-term nootropic designed for infrequent use.
A short-term focus enhance could also use some caffeine!
I’m not at all convinced by the research on NeuroFactor™. I’m not saying that it definitely doesn’t work. It is just that all I have seen so far is a single study claiming that it increases BDNF by over 100%. It isn’t hard to find similar studies showing that all manner of fantastical herbs increase hormones and neuropeptides by many hundreds of percentage points.
So instead of this relatively unproven ingredient, it would be nice to see some caffeine in here! Caffeine is a powerful and proven nootropic. It should be included in any short-term, fast-acting focus stack. But we get none from Primal One Ambition.
All-in-all, I’m quite impressed with Primal One Ambition. It looks like an effective focus enhancer.
However, I personally wouldn’t use it.
I prefer to take a slow and steady, long-term approach to cognitive enhancement. I don’t really have the need for a fast-acting but short-lived focus booster. When I need an extra kick, I just utilize caffeine. My daily stack contains 250mg of CDP-Choline – more than in this supposed focus booster!
Is Ambition a safe nootropic?
The one question that most of you probably want answering is this – will Primal One Ambition cause side effects?
Obviously, whether or not you personally will experience any adverse effects while using this stack depends entirely on your current condition – what medications you’re on, whether you have pre-existing medical conditions relevant to this stack, what allergies you have, etc.
However, I can give a general side effect overview for the average user.
In my opinion, Primal One Ambition users are highly unlikely to experience any side effects whatsoever.
The ingredients used by this nootropic are all commonplace substances. They are used in hundreds of pre-made nootropic stacks; have been for years. They aren’t known to cause serious side effects, nor are they thought to pose long-term health risks.
They have all been extensively studied in clinical trials and have been found to be safe for human supplementation.
So unless you have any allergies, you’re taking medications which interact with these ingredients, or anything like that, you should be fine.
The only thing I will say is that Huperzine A needs to be cycled on and off on a regular basis if you are to avoid side effects. This is especially true if you’re using it with a cholinergic like CDP-Choline.
Don’t use Huperzine A for longer than 2 weeks without a break, otherwise you’ll more than likely experience:
- Headaches
- Confusion
- Muscle cramps
- Loss of focus
- Loss of motivation
If you experience any side effects while using Primal One Ambition, stop using it right away and seek medical attention.
Remember
Please remember that I am NOT a doctor. This is NOT medical advice. All I’m doing is using my own personal research and experience to identify the most obvious dangers for the average (hypothetical) user. Do your own research and talk to a doctor before using any nootropics, even “natural” ones like this.
Final verdict – Is Primal One Ambition a good nootropic?
In my opinion, the answer is a firm yes. Prial One Ambition is a good quality nootropic.
If you’re looking for a supplement to rapidly increase your focus, banish brain fog, reduce anxiety and support good working memory function, then this would not be a bad option at all.
I think Primal One Ambition would be particularly good for people facing a particularly stressful day at work or college – exams, deadlines, meetings, all-nighters; Primal One Ambition would be ideal for these scenarios. It reduces performance anxiety, promotes calm, level-headed thinking, and increases mental energy.
However, this is not the stack for me. I don’t think it will be the right stack for most of you either.
I prefer to use all-in-one, full spectrum nootropics. In my experience that is the best way to see real, lasting, substantial changes in mental performance.
If I want a quick boost of focus, I’ll use coffee. My daily stack ensures that my cognitive function is way above baseline 24/7 – I don’t need the extra kick!
