Should you buy it?
This is definitely worth trying. Performance Lab Mind gets an awful lot done with just four ingredients – focus, learning, memory, stress, and brain health. The full package. It’s good value for money too, although less of a complete nootropic than Mind Lab Pro.
TL;DR – Summary
Performance Lab Mind is easily one of the best nootropics I have ever taken. It is so simple, so refined, and so focused that it’s hard to believe it can have such a massive impact on your cognitive performance in such a short space of time. But it can. Performance Lab Mind manages to cover all of the most important aspects of mental function with just a handful of ingredients. It is fast-acting, but without being over-powering (like co many caffeine-filled stacks). It promotes intense focus, calm, clear-headed thinking, and protects brain health over the long-term. For such a reasonable price, what more do you want?
Performane Lab Mind Review
Performance Lab Mind is a relatively new nootropic supplement. It was launched under a year ago. Yet in that short space of time, it has become one of the fastest-growing brain supplement on the market in terms of sales growth. There’s a lot of talk about this one online, not to mention about Performance Lab itself. People all over the world are dropping their go-to nootropics and giving this interesting newcomer a try.
Let’s find out why!
According to the website, Performance Lab Mind is a “cognitive enhancer with mental recovery and brain health support”. This emphasis on recovery and health as well as performance is very much in-keeping with Performance Lab’s philosophy.
Performance Lab Mind has been designed to deliver the following:
- Heightened focus
- Better memory function
- Faster processing speed
- Greater mental energy
- Better brain health over the long-term
- Supports a ‘flexible neural structure’
That is quite an extensive list of benefits for a single nootorpic stack to deliver on. Normally, brain supplements limit themselves to the vague triad of “focus, memory and clarity”.
Performance Lab have actually gone into great detail about how Mind works, what it does, and the research that has gone into its creation.
So on paper, this looks like a pretty fantastic nootropic to me.
Rapid increase in focus, better memory function, faster information processing, and a healthier, more developed brain going forward. You can’t ask for much more than that!
But how much of this is true? Does Performance Lab Mind really work like they say? Is it safe? Will Mind cause side effects? Is it worth the money? Is there a better nootropic than this one?

Performance Lab Mind ingredients
The most important thing to examine when trying to decide if Performance Lab Mind is for you isn’t what the manufacturer says.
It’s the formula; the ingredients and doses used.
Here is a shot of the label:
Here is a list of Performance Lab Mind’s ingredients for those of you that want it written out:
- 250mg Citicoline (as Cognizin®)
- 100mg Phosphatidylserine (as Sharp-PS Green®)
- 300mg Tyrosine
- 75mg Maritime Pine Bark Extract
For the nootropics beginners reading this, I’ll go through the each ingredient in more detail, explaining what it does, how it enhances cognitive function, and so on.
Cognizin®
Cognizin is a branded, highly potent form of Citicoline, also known as CDP-Choline. This is a choline analogue – it is a choline-containing compound which is used to rapidly increase choline levels in the brain. Choline is not very good at crossing the blood-brain barrier. So, to increase choline levels, you need to use a choline analogue like CDP-Choline. We call these compounds cholinergics.
In my opinion, this is the best cholinergic in the world. It is extremely efficient at raising choline concentrations in the brain. This in turn leads to a significant rise in acetylcholine levels. Acetylcholine is the brain’s executive neurotransmitter – more acetylcholine means more brain horse power!
Studies have found that supplementing with Citicoline leads to dramatic improvements in cognitive function, specifically with regard to focus and working memory. On top of that, Citicoline enhances brain cell membrane formation. It is a superb natural nootropic – every stack can be improved by adding in some of this stuff!
Sharp-PS Green®
Sharp-PS Green is an extremely high quality form of phosphatidylserine. Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid found in very large concentrations in the human brain. It’s little wonder why; it is a primary structural component of brain cell membranes, and it is vital for the carrying out of apoptosis (programmed cell death).
Basically, if you don’t get enough phosphatidylserine, you can’t get rid of dying brain cells and you certainly can’t replace them with new ones at an efficient rate. We do get enough of this fat-like substance from food. However, if like me you’re interested in maximizing cognitive performance, supplementation is necessary. This is particularly true among older people, as phospholipid levels naturally decline as we age.
Performance Lab Mind uses yet another branded, highly potent, standardized ingredient rather than the cheaper, generic forms usually used in nootropics. This is a major selling point of this brain supplement; more on this later.
N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine
This natural anxiolytic is an amino acid, but don’t let that fool you. Tyrosine is an incredibly powerful nootropic substance when used correctly. It is one of the best anxiolytics to use in a nootropic stack because it actively promotes good cognitive function and it has no sedating properties whatsoever. It is a key ingredient in many popular nootropics, including NooCube. You can learn more about NooCube on Vagarights.com.
Studies have shown that Tyrosine supplementation improves cognitive performance in people placed under acute environmental stress. Specifically, Tyrosine has been shown to support good mental performance under conditions including sleep deprivation, extreme cold, multitasking, and noise exposure. It is a very effective substance for treating performance anxiety and the ‘brain fog’ that comes with it. It is ideal for use in situations where you are going to be severely fatigued, uncomfortable, or nervous, but where you need to still be mentally sharp.
I therefore recommend Tyrosine to students, travelling sales people, athletes, and busy executives. It suits their needs perfectly, and it has none of the potentially problematic effects that other anxiolytics do – no drowsiness, no loss of control, no lowering of inhibitions.
Maritime Pine Bark Extract
Maritime Pine Bark contains a complex of very interesting antioxidants called proanthocyanidins. These antioxidants are extremely powerful – they readily interact with free radicals, rendering them harmless. This obviously has a profound effect on your brain health – and function – going forward. But that isn’t all these antioxidants do.
New research has found that the proanthocyanidins in Maritime Pine Bark Extract promote blood flow in the brain. They do this by promoting the release of Nitrous Oxide. This dilates your blood vessels and keeps your blood flowing as it should be (NO can be thought of as the lubricant for the circulatory system). This means more blood gets delivered to your brain cells, which means more energy, greater efficiency, and better brain cell health for the long-term.
What’s amazing is that the Maritime Pine Bark Extract used in Performance Lab Mind is standardized to be 95% proanthocyanidins! That’s pretty incredible by anyone’s standards.
My thoughts on the formula
In my opinion, Performance Lab Mind is easily one of the best nootropic supplements on sale today.
Performance Lab Mind just gets everything right.
The quality of the ingredients is next level – you just can’t get better than these extracts. The manufacturer has spent the extra money to make sure you’re getting the best of the best.
The doses are optimal – larger than doses proven to work in clinical trials but low enough so that side effects aren’t a concern.
There’s no waste. No dead weight. No over-hyped fluff. There’s no repetitive redundancy. There are no nasty synthetic chemicals or stimulants.
The Performance Lab Mind formula is all business – just proven, effective, powerful nootropics.
I’ll now go through what I see as the main selling points of this fantastic brain supplement.
Main Positive – Covers every angle
My favorite thing about this brain supplement is that it increases all of the most important aspects of cognitive performance with just four ingredients.
The guys at Performance Lab have clearly been extremely careful choosing the ingredients here, and it has paid off big time. They’ve made sure all the angles are covered without wasting a single milligram of formula.
Focus
We have 250mg of Cognizin to enhance focus, information processing, and working memory function.
Most studies looking at Citicoline have used somewhere in between 150mg and 300mg per day. A couple of studies have used higher doses of other cholinergics and seen good results. However, I think that above 300mg you get severely diminishing returns. I don’t think the effects of 400mg are much different to the effects of 250mg, but the side effects risks are much higher.
For me, 250mg is the sweet spot between potency and side effect risks. You’ll see a significant rise in attention, faster thinking speed, and quicker reaction times using 250mg per day.
Stress
We also have 300mg of Tyrosine to promote good cognitive performance during times of peak stress.
As I explained above, Tyrosine is the perfect anti-anxiety supplement for people who need to be mentally sharp. It doesn’t simply reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Instead, it improves cognitive performance in people placed in stressful situations. Studies have shown that Tyrosine boosts focus and memory function in people subjected to sleep deprivation, extreme noise exposure, extreme cold exposure, and so on.
Taking 300mg per day is more than enough to keep you in a state of calm, clear-headed focus despite everything around you being chaotic, noisy, and distracting.
Brain Development
Performance Lab Mind delivers 100mg of high quality phosphatidylserine to support proper brain cell maintenance.
While the Citicoline and Tyrosine are turning you into a computational powerhouse, phosphatidylserine is working in the background, promoting good brain cell health, optimal neuron growth, and efficient cell signalling. You do get “enough” phosphatidylserine from food. You therefore don’t need to take large amounts to enhance brain health – 100mg of top quality Sharp-PS Green is more than enough to promote optimal brain cell development over the long-term.
Phosphatidylserine isn’t just a short-term nootropic. Studies have shown that it can have a significant effect on cognitive performance in as little as a few weeks. This makes it an ideal ingredient for a complete, full-spectrum brain supplement like Performance Lab Mind.
Brain Cell Health
To top it all off, Performance Lab Mind delivers a large dose of highly concentrated Maritime Pine Bark Extract.
This makes sure that your brain cells are adequately protected from environmental pollutants by giving you a big dose of and extremely potent antioxidant. This is a lot more important than it sounds. Free radicals are constantly causing tiny amounts of damage to your cells. How much damage they inflict depends on you – your antioxidant profile, your lifestyle, your environment, etc. But it happens to everyone to some degree.
Protecting your brain cells from such damage over the course of a life time can have a massive impact on your cognitive function.
At 95% potency, the Maritime Pine Bark Extract used by Performance Lab Mind is extremely powerful – far more so than the standard antioxidants you get from most nootropics.
Focus, working memory, clarity, reduced anxiety, optimal brain development, and better brain health over the long term.
Those are the most important things I want to get from a nootropic. Performance Lab Mind delivers them all.
Major Positive – Ingredient quality – Great value for money
It’s worth talking a little about the quality of the ingredients used in Performance Lab Mind.
I genuinely believe that the quality of the ingredients in this stack really sets it apart from 90% of the nootropics on the market right now.
For example, instead of simply using standard CDP-Choline – or worse, simple Choline bitartrate – Performance Lab Mind contains Cognizin®.
Cognizin is a branded, highly standardized form of CDP-Choline. It is manufactured according to the industry’s highest standards. It is generally accepted that this is the purest form of Citicoline on the market. You know exactly what you’re getting when you use this stuff.
Of course, it is also significantly more expensive than other forms of CDP-Choline on the market today. It is a lot pricier than basic choline analogues like choline bitartrate, which many stacks use.
Even the best nootropics don’t normally pay the extra money for Cognizin. It is a big plus for Performance Lab Mind that it uses top quality ingredients like this!
I could say exactly the same thing about all the other ingredients:
- Sharp-PS Green instead of simple phosphatidylserine
- 95% Maritime Pine Bark Extract instead of whole bark powder or resveratrol
- N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine instead of simple L-Tyrosine powder
In every case Performance Lab have gone the extra mile – and spent a lot of extra money – to give you the best possible ingredients.
This brings me neatly onto the next section – the price.
How much does Performance Lab Mind cost?
There is a reason that Performance Lab Mind is almost always listed as the ‘value option’ on lists of the best nootropics.
It genuinely does represent extremely good value for money.
You get a lot of bang for your buck here – it is a complete, full-spectrum nootropic with very low side effect risks. Usually you could expect to pay anywhere up to $65 for a single bottle of such a product.
A single bottle of Performance Lab Mind costs just $50.
Buying 3 bottles gets you a 10% discount too.
For a professional-quality brain supplement, that is a really good deal.
When you factor in the 30-day money back guarantee, it’s a no-brainer. If you want a good, all-round cognitive enhancer but you don’t have the money to buy a stack like Mind Lab Pro, this might be just what you’re looking for.
Performance Lab Mind is a simple, minimalist alternative to the bloated, often over-priced nootropics currently dominating the market. I think it will probably win out in the long-term for that reason.

My Performance Lab Productivity Stack
Performance Lab products are purpose-designed for stacking. This is how you really get the most out of their supplements – deciding what your specific goals are, and combining products to make your own perfect supplement stack.
I have found that a combination of the Mind, Vision and Energy stacks yields incredible results if you are going to be working on a computer for an extended period of time (to finish a project, thesis, novel, etc).

My experience with Performance Lab Mind
This is probably why most of you have come to this Performance Lab Mind review; to find out what I thought of it personally.
Well, I wont keep you any longer.
This is, hands down, one of the best natural nootropic supplements I have ever used.
I actually didn’t expect a great deal from this stack. I usually take a stack with many more ingredients, so I thought it would be a weaker version of that. I was wrong.
As with all my personal experiments, I started by taking a ‘drying out week’ – a 7 day break from nootropics to let my brain re-set. I then took Performance Lab Mind according to the manufacturer’s instructions for 60 days straight. I performed memory games every day, and I always monitor my performance at work.
Month 1
I felt the initial effects on the very first day. About an hour after taking my first capsule of Performance Lab Mind, I felt considerably more focused. I found it a lot easier to get into a ‘flow state’ – I immersed myself in my work and got a lot of it completed ahead of schedule that day.
I left work at 7.30pm, got home and listened to a podcast while I worked out. I read for an hour before hitting the hay at 11.30pm.
The next day I got out of bed at 6.30am, did my morning stretches, got ready, and was back in the office by 8am. I took my Performance Lab Mind at the same time (10am with coffee) and the day repeated the same as the day before – heightened focus, work tunnel vision, and a completed to-do list way ahead of schedule.
The month continued in this same manner – I felt like Performance Lab Mind was allowing me to ignore all distractions and to bury myself contentedly in work for long periods each day.
This is exactly what I needed at the time. I had several deadlines to hit and I was falling behind when I started the trial. Whether it was my determination or Performance Lab Mind, I don’t care – I hit my deadlines a few days early.
Month 2
In month 2 I started to see drastic changes in my memory game performance.
I was conducted my usual tests – rapid number memorization tests, long list memorization tests, and recall speed tests. My scores started to go up across the board during month 2 of using Performance Lab Mind. My memory was becoming more effective, and I was recalling information much more quickly than before.
Throughout month 2, my performance in work remained at a higher level. I was blasting through my to-do lists like lightening. At no point did I feel close to burnout; every day I was just slipping comfortably into a nice work hole – like tunnel vision – and the hours were flying by.
At the end of the month, I’d actually gotten a jump on the next month’s workload.
Not once did I experience any side effects. At no point did Performance Lab Mind feel intoxicating – it didn’t make me act strangely or feel weird like many smart drugs do.
It was all benefit. All business.
At the end of the two months, I took a week ‘dry out’ and then went back to my current nootropic stack. I feel that my usual stack just provides more long-term benefits. But if I were on a budget, or I wanted to minimize the substances I took on a daily basis, I’d definitely switch to Performance Lab Mind.
Is Performance Lab Mind safe to use?
One enormous positive to Performance Lab Mind is the fact that it is extremely safe. This is especially true when you compare it to the synthetic ‘smart drugs’ out there. It is equally true when you compare Performance Lab Mind to some of the other natural nootropics on the market right now – stuffed full of stimulants, side effect-ridden herbs, and unproven extracts.
In my opinion, you are highly unlikely to experience any side effects whatsoever while taking Performance Lab Mind.
The ingredients used here are not thought to pose significant side effects risks for 99.9% of users. Most of them are commonly used in nutritional supplements today, and at similar doses.
More importantly, each ingredient has been tested in dozens of clinical trials (on humans of course). they have all been deemed perfectly safe for regular human consumption.
None of the trials I’ve read regarding these ingredients have ever raised any notable side effect concerns. When side effects have occurred, they’ve typically been related to digestion.
I personally experienced absolutely nothing resembling adverse effects while taking Performance Lab Mind. I used it for 90 days straight with no side effects whatsoever.
However, it’s true that not everybody is the same. Just because something is safe for the vast majority of people doesn’t mean it is absolutely safe for everybody.
I don’t know your current situation or your medical history. It might be that your current medications interact negatively with an ingredient in Performance Lab Mind. You might have an unusual allergy, or a pre-existing condition which makes this nootropic unsafe. That is why it is vital that you talk to a doctor before using it!
Remember
I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. I don’t know you. All I am doing here is evaluating the risks for the average, hypothetical user based on my knowledge, research and experience with nootropics. To stay 100% safe you need to do your own research and talk to your regular family doctor.
This applies to all supplements, even if they are 100% natural and lab-tested.
If you do experience any side effects while taking Performance Lab Mind, stop using it and get medical attention. Message the manufacturer if you have any concerns at all; you can see their contact page here.
Final verdict – Is Performance Lab Mind a good nootropic?
Performance Lab Mind is one of the best brain supplements on sale today.
That is my honest opinion. I’ve tried it for myself, and I can tell you that the results are real. I experienced a significant improvement in focus and attention quality while using Performance Lab Mind.
That translated into greater efficiency in work, which meant more billable hours, which meant more money.
I also noticed a meaningful improvement in memory function during the 60 days I used Performance Lab Mind for – I scored better on the memory games I use to judge nootropics.
Having looked at the formula in great detail, I’m not surprised this nootropic worked so well for me.
It combines some incredible nootropic substances. Together, these substances take care of all the most important aspects of mental performance – focus, clarity, anxiety, energy, and long-term health.
The quality of the ingredients used is top-notch, but the extra costs aren’t reflected in the price tag. You get a premium product for a market-average price.
All-in-all, Performance Lab Mind is a pretty incredible nootropic.
If you want a powerful, reliable nootropic that will help you be more productive in work or at school, then Performance Lab Mind would be a great choice. It offers great value for money and a very low side effect risk profile. An ideal option for nootropic beginners.
