I honestly don’t think you can do better than Mind Lab Pro right now. If your goal is total brain optimization, then no other supplements come close. It covers every angle, and the ingredient quality is second-to-none. A great nootropic – well worth a try regardless of your specific goals!
TL;DR – Summary
Mind Lab Pro is my personal favorite nootropic. I use it on a daily basis – have done for over a year. The only time I stop using it is to test new brain supplements for Nootropic Zone. It is, in my opinion, the best nootropic on the market today. The formula is pretty much perfect. It enhances every important aspect of cognitive performance: focus, information processing, memory function, stress levels, mental energy, brain development – it does it all! A truly professional stack. I think anyone will see benefits using this nootropic, whether you’re a beginner or advanced nootropic user.
Mind Lab Pro Review
If you’ve spent any time looking at nootropic supplements online, then you’ve definitely heard a lot about Mind Lab Pro. It is one of the ‘big names’ in the nootropics industry; since it was launched a couple of years ago, it has consistently been one of the most popular and widely used brain supplement in the world. You’ll find dozens of Mind Lab Pro reviews online. More get published every week. Clearly, this is going to remain one of the most popular brain supplements for some time.
So what does Mind Lab Pro do?
According to the official website, Mind Lab Pro is a full-spectrum nootropic. In their words, it is a “whole brain optimizer” which supports total cognitive performance. The manufacturer says that everyone can benefit from Mind Lab Pro regardless of your specific goals.
That’s a big claim!
Users are told that they can expect the following impressive array of benefits:
- Faster mental processing
- Better memory function
- Increased clarity and energy in the morning
- Greater focus and concentration
- Promotes neurogenesis
- Supports brain cell health
- Promotes calm, clear-headed attention
That really is a full-spectrum nootropic. Mind Lab Pro promises to enhance every facet of cognitive function; memory, focus, energy, growth, health – it claims to do it all.
The question is though, is this true? Or is this just manufacturer hyperbole?
Does Mind Lab Pro really work as advertised? Can it do all of the things listed above? Is Mind Lab Pro safe? What kind of side effects do you need to worry about? Is it worth the money?

Mind Lab Pro ingredients
Let’s check out the Mind Lab Pro formula. The manufacturer has made a big deal out of the quality of the ingredients used in Mind Lab Pro. They’ve written thousands of words on the website explaining why their formula is better than the competition.
Let’s get into it. Here is a shot of the Mind Lab Pro formula as shown on the label:
Here is a list of the ingredients with the doses:
- 250mg Cognizin®
- 150mg Bacopa monnieri (9 bioactives)
- 500mg Lion’s Mane Mushroom
- 100mg Sharp-PS Green®
- 175mg N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine
- 100mg Suntheanine®
- 50mg Rhodiola rosea (3%, 1% extract)
- 75mg Maritime Pine Bark Extract (95% extract)
- 2.5mg B6 (BioGenesis)
- 100mcg B9 (BioGenesis)
- 7.5mcg B12 (BioGenesis)
I’ll now run through the key ingredients, what they do, and how they can enhance your cognitive performance.
Citicoline (as Cognizin®)
In my opinion, Citicoline is the best cholinergic in existence. Cognizin is an extremely pure, branded, standardized form of Citicoline. It is the most expensive form of choline, but I think it is definitely worth the money.
When it comes to cholinergics, Cognizin really is the cream of the crop. This choline analogue quickly raises choline levels in the brain. This raises acetylcholine synthesis, which significantly increases raw brain power – more acetylcholine means better neuronal communication, which means better memory function, heightened attention, enhanced focus, and more. Citicoline does more than just raise acetylcholine – it supports brain cell membrane formation too. It is a truly incredible nootropic.
Bacopa monnieri is an adaptogen used for its memory-enhancing properties. It has long been used in traditional Aurverdic medicine to treat various ailments; it’s used as a bit of a cure-all in India. Modern scientific studies have found that it does have a massive effect on memory function. Supplementing with bacopa monnieri significantly improves memory retention, recall speed, and working memory. This effect is particularly notable in older people experiencing mild cognitive impairment.
Mind Lab Pro uses a unique Bacopa monnieri extract. The Bacopa monnieri in Mind Lab Pro has been standardized to provide just the 9 bio-active bacosides which have an effect on human cognitive function. The extract is 24% bacosides by weight, but you are only getting the bacosides that make a difference.
Lion’s Mane Mushroom
Lion’s Mane Mushroom ingestion is known to significantly increase Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) expression in the brain. NGF is a neuropeptide and neurotrophic factor. That means that it regulates the growth, differentiation, and proliferation of new brain cells. Basically, having higher levels of NGF in your brain means faster neuron repair, more neuron growth, and an increase in the sheer number of neurons in your brain. Obviously, the end result is more brain ‘horse power’. This is a real slow burner, but the effect it can have on your cognitive function over the long term is immense.
Several robust, clinical studies have found Lion’s Mane Mushroom supplementation to be extremely effective at improving brain function across multiple different parameters. It is a great addition to any nootropic. Unlike most nootropics, its effect are deep and long-lasting.
Phosphatidylserine (as Sharp-PS Green®)
Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid – a fat-like substance which we consume regularly through our normal diet. Phosphatidylserine is extremely important for healthy brain function. It is found in very large concentrations in the human brain, where it is used to create new brain cell membranes. It is actually a principle component of brain cell membranes. Without sufficient phosphatidylserine, you can’t create new brain cells. Phosphatidylserine is also involved in cell signalling; specifically, when a cell reaches the end of its life phosphatidylserine moves from the inside of the membrane to the outside.
Simply put, phosphatidylserine is one important substance for your brain. You do synthesize some yourself, and we consume some through food. But optimizing brain function isn’t about ‘getting enough’. To see an improvement in cognitive function above baseline, you need to supplement.
Tyrosine is an amino acid. Unlike most amino acids, Tyrosine actually has some notable nootropic properties. Most significant is its ability to promote good mental performance in subjects placed under extreme pressure. It is often described as an anxiolytic. It does indeed reduce anxiety. But I don’t think that really gets across Tyrosine’s benefits properly. It is more like a stress-specific nootropic.
Studies have found that Tyrosine supplementation improves cognitive performance – across a range of parameters – in people subjected to extreme stress, including noise exposure, cold exposure, sleep deprivation, and more. This makes it ideal for anyone wanting to maintain mental sharpness and memory function during intense work periods, exams, or the run-up to important deadlines.
Rhodiola rosea is more like a traditional anxiolytic than Tyrosine. Its primary effect is stress and anxiety reduction. Specifically, it reduces subjective feelings of stress and attenuates the worst symptoms of anxiety. Using rhodiola rosea brings about a feeling of relaxed calmness within about an hour. This leaves you clear headed and in the right frame of mind to tackle the task that is causing you so much stress – be it a test, an exam, an interview, or anything else.
Rhodiola rosea becomes significantly more powerful when coupled with Tyrosine. In my experience, using these two anxiolytics together is the most effective way to eliminate the brain fog that comes with stress, whether it’s chronic or acute.
Maritime Pine Bark Extract
This is a really interesting ingredient. Maritime Pine Bark is a very unusual nootropic ingredient – few stacks use this plant extract. I believe Mind Lab Pro was actually the first nootropic supplement to use it, quickly followed by Performance Lab Mind. This is a real shame in my opinion; Maritime Pine Bark Extract is one of the most potent sources of anti-oxidants we know of. More importantly, the anti-oxidants found in Maritime Pine Bark have specific nootropic properties.
The proanthocyanidins in Maritime Pine Bark are powerful anti-oxidants – they readily react with harmful free radicals, rendering them useless. This protects your brain cells from damage. But these compounds also promote blood flow in the brain; they dilate your blood vessels, allowing more oxygen to reach your brain cells.
If you’re going to use an anti-oxidant in a brain supplement – and I believe you should if you’re serious about looking after long-term brain health – then there’s no better option than Maritime Pine Bark. Manufacturers will have to pay extra for this stuff, but it’s worth it for the results you get.
A look at some Mind Lab Pro user testimonials
I never put too much stock in user reviews.
You don’t know if they’ve been scientific in their approach. You can’t be sure that they haven’t been taking other substances which might better explain the effects they felt. And of course, you never know if they’re paid stooges or not.
But it is still worth checking out user reviews when evaluating a new product. This is especially true when the testimonials come from notable public figures, academics, and researchers.
Mind Lab Pro has some pretty heavy-duty testimonials. Here is a selection of YouTube clips from some of Mind Lab Pro’s biggest fans:
You can see the full list of notable Mind Lab Pro user reviews on the stories page of the website. I think it’s well worth checking them out – you’ll struggle to find a nootropic with this much backing!
My experiences with Mind Lab Pro – Ongoing!
This use report is going to be a little different from the others because in this case, I’m still using the product in question!
I currently take Mind Lab Pro every single day before breakfast. I have been using it pretty much continuously for about 18 months.
I take the occasional break to trial other brain supplements. But once I’m done, I always go back to Mind Lab Pro – nothing has come close to giving me the same results yet!
Because I can’t really give you a month by month play of my experiences with Mind Lab Pro, I’ll give you a rundown of the biggest differences I’ve seen in my cognitive performance while I’ve been using it.
Attention & Focus – Mind Lab Pro’s big benefit
Mind Lab Pro rapidly increases focus, attention span, and depth of concentration. What’s amazing for a stimulant-free nootropic is that it starts to work really quickly – I always feel a sharp lift in focus within an hour of taking my Mind Lab Pro caps in the morning. I do take it with coffee, but I know the difference between a caffeine kick and a CDP-Choline kick.
This was the first benefit I noticed from Mind Lab Pro. I didn’t expect to feel anything on my very first day; natural nootropics usually take a good few days and weeks to really get going. But the large dose of Citicoline really hit me hard.
That first day at the office, I remember being completely zoned-in on my work. I was able to easily ignore all distractions and to enter a complete ‘flow state’. I hammered through an entire day’s worth of work by 3pm and then started to get a jump on the next day.
Eventually I got used to always being ‘dialed in’ when I have a task to do, but during my first few days using Mind Lab Pro I definitely noticed a big difference in my focus, drive, and how easily I could slip into ‘the flow’.
Another big benefit that I get from Mind Lab Pro is the increased mental clarity I have first thing in the morning and late at night.
I’ve always been a naturally late riser – if left to my own devices (no nootropics, no alarm, no coffee), I will finally be able to pull myself out of bed at around 10am. I’ll be completely dazed, unable to think, and groggy for hours afterwards.
During college, the first few hours of lectures were basically wasted on me.
After about a week of using Mind Lab Pro, I noticed that I was considerably more alert and engaged first thing in the morning. I couldn’t describe the difference exactly – I just felt that when I was awake, I was actually awake.
After about 2 months of using Mind Lab Pro on a daily basis, I was getting up at 6am, 5 minutes before my alarm, and getting straight into my emails. Doing this meant I was about an hour and a half ahead on work by the time I got to the office.
Some people have suggested to me that my early morning alertness comes from sleeping better thanks to the rhodiola rosea. I disagree. I sleep very well; the only difference is how sharp I am when I wake up. And the only thing I’ve really changed is to introduce Mind Lab Pro!
Obviously, I don’t feel the effects of having higher Nerve Growth Factor levels or higher phosphatidylserine availability after just 18 months of on-and-off use. But I know that over the course of the next 5, 10, even 20 years, my brain function will be significantly better off for taking these substances than it otherwise would be.
Mind Lab Pro does everything I need it to, and more. I honestly can’t think of a scenario when I would not want any of the benefits I’ve gotten from this nootropic so far.
The best thing is, the effects just keep getting more pronounced. As every month passes, my memory function improves, my focus get sharper, and I feel increasingly in control of my stress levels.

Is Mind Lab Pro safe to use?
Mind Lab Pro is an all-natural brain supplement made from herbal extracts, amino acids, and vitamins.
There are no synthetic brain drugs in Mind Lab Pro.
It doesn’t contain any stimulants.
The doses are all well within the normal range (albeit at the top of the range for pre-made stacks).
Most of the ingredients used in Mind Lab Pro are common in nootropic supplements; they are used around the world by millions of people every day. They do not seem to regularly cause any problems whatsoever.
More importantly, each ingredient in Mind Lab Pro has been thoroughly and repeatedly tested in robust, independent clinical trials using human subjects. None of them have ever been found to pose significant risks to health. None regularly cause side effects of any kind.
All of the ingredients in Mind Lab Pro are thought to be perfectly safe for regular, long-term human consumption.
I use Mind Lab Pro on a daily basis. As you’ll see if you read my personal experience report above, I am yet to get a single side effect from this nootropic. None. Not even a headache. Anecdotal data can only count for so much, but I think that is definitely worth mentioning!
Of course, everyone is different. I think Mind Lab Pro is going to be a side effect-free experience for 99.99% of people. But there are always a few individuals who are allergic or sensitive to a certain substance.
It’s important that you do your own research thoroughly and consult with a doctor before using Mind Lab Pro, even if it does look incredibly safe.
Please keep in mind the fact that I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. You need to talk to your regular doctor before you start using Mind Lab Pro. I have no idea what your current circumstances are; your medications and pre-existing conditions might be relevant to whether this stack is safe for you or not. Talk to a doctor before you proceed.
If you do experience any notable side effects while using Mind Lab Pro (as unlikely as that is) then get in touch with the manufacturer and let them know. If the side effects are serious, or if they persist, cease using Mind Lab Pro and seek medical attention.
How much does Mind Lab Pro cost?
The one thing that might make someone hesitate using Mind Lab Pro is the price.
As a professional-level nootropic, it comes with a substantial price tag.
Obviously, it is a lot more expensive than some of the garbage you’ll see being sold on Amazon. But that’s a good thing in my opinion – it mean my competitors probably aren’t using it!
A single bottle of Mind Lab Pro costs $65.00.
For that price you get a 30 serving bottle (60 capsules). So on a daily basis that works out at about $2.16 per day.
For a software engineer, programmer, professional gamer, or designer, that really isn’t a lot of money. I certainly think I get far more value back from Mind Lab Pro than $2-worth.
But you can make Mind Lab Pro significantly cheaper by ordering more than one box at a time.
By ordering the 3-box deal, you get a fourth box of Mind Lab Pro thrown in for free.
That brings the price down to just $48.75 per bottle.
This works out at about $1.62 per day.
I think that is a pretty terrific deal for better performance in work, faster reaction times, and better brain health going forward. If you’re an athlete, a competitive professional, or a freelancer, that $1.62 per day could turn into thousands of dollars of gained productivity.
Check the Mind Lab Pro website for prices in your local currency. You can see different prices here.
Final verdict – Is Mind Lab Pro a good nootropic?
In my opinion, Mind Lab Pro isn’t just good. It’s the single best nootropic supplement on sale today.
It is my current daily nootropic stack. I take it every single day, and I have been seeing real, meaningful improvements in my mental performance as a result. Until something comes along offering better value for money or more ‘horse power’, I’ll keep using Mind Lab Pro on a daily basis.
I really can’t give you more of a recommendation than that!
Even if you ignore my personal preferences, this really is a fantastic brain supplement when you look at it objectively.
Compared to practically every other brain supplement on the market right now, Mind Lab Pro is a clear leader. It offers a more complete package than 99% of stacks, with lower side effect risks, for a very reasonable price.
It covers every aspect of cognitive function, both short and long-term.
If you’re looking for a supplement to help enhance your focus, learning, performance under stress, and your long-term brain health, Mind Lab Pro is the ideal candidate.
